SlipTape / deck protection  Reply with quote

Seen an advert for some product called SlipTape, which is a clear tape you apply to the bottom of the deck, and it protects your graphics, and supposedly aids, erm.....slipping.

Don't think they have a UK distributor (I e-mailed them to check...), but I wondered if anyone knew of a similar clear tape stuff that might be available from the building trade, or where-ever ? Something thickish, neoprene-like material is what I was thinking of......

Just thought I'd ask, before I go and fix a tail-bone to the new deck....

Been tried before in the 49mm wheel/slick-deck madness of the earlyish 90's. The solution proved to be bigger wheels and push harder and faster.

If anyone wants to remake those tailbones with the bits of flint in them though, i'm definitely down.

I remember that plastic coating nonsense back in 91/92 I think I ended up peeling it off with the help of Nitromors...

whats the point in those tail flints.....they could set your socks on fire, lol.

i just used regular PVA to cover the underside of my deck......

it protects the graphics AND helps give the board extra protection....i dint do it anymore though....i just plant stickers on the beast.....[/img]
