Cowdenbeath 'skatepark'  Reply with quote

I see from the list of greenspace plans that Cowdenbeath is to get a new skatepark along with outdoor gym type equipment. The problem is that the money is not yet available for all the plans on the list. Unfortunately there were no clues as to what was definite and what was yet to be funded. It might be a good idea to stop them putting in a park without consulting users.

Not sounding good. Can you get some more info and a contact at the council for us? Really want to ensure that councils are not wasting cash of rubbish parks which no one is going to use.

I'll see what I can find out, though my best contact is off work. I'll see if someone else can help.

I've got hold of a copy of the greenspace action plan for Cowdenbeath. It states the completion as autumn 2012. Not much time to intervene.
As I'm at work now, I'll mail further details from home.

George Lawrie (Fife council parks team leader) has informed me that they now have prices for Cowdenbeath skatepark (no apparent design consultation with any user group) and are almost ready to put the job out to tender. There is a meeting tomorrow regarding all the Cowdenbeath area greenspace plans. He said he'd let me know what, if any, decisions are made then.
