Bad News from Pete at Free Skateboards

Here is a wee bit of news from Facebook:

Lads….. you probably know by now that for the time being I’m unable to distribute Free in Scotland. I had an agreement with the boss of Free, but he has now changed this agreement in a way which compromises the terms and conditions that I offer to the Scottish shops. I am sure this stems from an increasingly tough economic environment in España. I was 100% dedicated to the project but unfortunately at the moment it has to be put on hold. I see huge potential in Scottish skateboarding and I plan to continue backing the scene as much as possible. I am committed to support Scottish skaters and competitions, and will work as hard as possible to make sure I can continue to do so. At the moment I’m working on a new project here in Barcelona called Hang Ten BCN (http://www.facebook.com/Hangtensl). We organise a skate school, surf school and an outlet of skate/surf brand clothing and footwear. We’re currently working on our website and will soon be selling online (http://hangtenbcn.com/)…. Keep your eye on it for discounted clothes and footwear. Any profits will be reinvested in skateboarding so that I can come back to Scotland with a new board brand and continue to sponsor Scottish skaters and competitions. I hope all is well in the motherland… It’s 8.30pm here and it’s still roasting!!… The sun is just going down so I’m gonna get my skate on. As fun as Barca is, i’m looking forward to my next trip back to shred the concrete seas of Scotland (some time in August). Thanks for all the support over the 9 or 10 months. Many a sesh to follow… Keep on pushing!!

Props to Free for their support over the last year or so. Shame that it did not last.
