Event date: June 23, 2006:
In line with tradition, the last weekend in June is destined to be this year’s Livi Pure Fun Weekend. However, there’s been a bit of a problem this time around getting a permit for the event from the council (something to do with them wanting the organisers to provide public liability insurance and the usual organisers being unavailable to organise, let alone shell out to insure the uninsurable).
There’s inevitably going to be a lot of skating over that weekend with a lot of skaters from far and wide (it is a public outdoor skatepark, after all), BUT… because there is no official permit for the event no camping will be allowed (and we’ve been reliably informed that the local constabulary won’t be in a position to bend this rule). You should also be aware that West Lothian operates a region-wide outdoor drinking ban which is also likely to be enforced, again due to the lack of a permit.
But we all know there’s more to the Livi weekend than tents and booze, so book yourself into the local Travelodge, stock up on lime cordial and we’ll see you on the 24th.
