On the 25th June there will be an open meeting with stakeholders and members of the public at Carrickvale Community Centre from 7-9pm. The meeting will be chaired by Councillor Deidre Brock and will also be attended by councillor Nick Elliott-Cannon. There will also be an open/drop-in session from 2-5pm with a staffed exhibition beforehand.
All of the dealings with the local community so far have been very positive so it’s not expected that the problems encountered with the previous proposed location at Inverleith. The local community seem to be stoked that there will be more to do in the area. The council are 100% behind the project and have spent a lot of time talking with community groups and individuals to get as many people as possible onside so skater’s attendance should involve only answering the odd question and showing support.
