Report from UK Independent Vert Series 2009 – Ramp City, Blackpool

Wingey sent up a quick report from the recent stage of the UK Independent Vert Series at Ramp City in Blackpool (Apparently Aberdeen wasn’t the only place with a serious skate session happening on Sunday.):

This weekend in Blackpool the UK Independent Vert Series moved up to another level with some more ground breaking moves from the cream of the UK Vert skaters.

Sam Beckett took the win home to Norwich and with no question of a doubt was on fire all weekend. As predicted Sam nailed the 720 after just 4 attempts straight after the final, which sent the crowd into over drive and amazement at what they where watching!

The field of riders was slightly smaller than usual, but by no means under par at any time. Congratulations to Adam Halverson from Cornwall for putting in the best skate he has ever had!!

The B group also got well involved with a total surprise from Jon Nixon, one of the Old Skool Vert crew taking the win, and young Becky form Liverpool also getting back in the swing of things after a few years of absence taking a second place.

Just one more round left and Sam Bosworth has work to do after dropping a few places this weekend, which leaves the series a little more open for the others.

Thanks to Ramp City, Big Woody, Jon Nixon, Simon Nixon, Oakley, Vans, Rockstar, Bones Wheels, Flip and Protec. All you guys deserve a beer and a big thank you.
