Elgin Jam write up

Mike from ESP sorted out the prizes and Skateboard Scotland in association with SYB organised the 3rd leg of the Concrete Slayer series. The event also coincided with the 20th anniversary of the ESP shop in Elgin. Good work Mike. If you have not been to Elgin skatepark before, you should go. It is a fun wee park and a really fun park to skate. It is about a 3.5 or 4 hour drive up there from the central belt but it is well worth the trip.

We made the mission up in the Menzies Camper van with the crew consisting of Ali, Kieran, Zee, Budgee, Bongo and Inglis. It was raining the whole way up but by some miracle it was a nice sunny day (with showers) in Elgin.  There was a great turn out from the Capitals youth as well as some lifers. Massive thanks to all the Elgin skate posse who put us up and let us have much fun in highlands. Great wee jam with SOCKS winning, HUSS in second and KIERAN in third. The kiddies was won by a local ripper and BONGO got third, whilst DECLAN and TRISTIAN repped as best they can. Rain as always tried to stop play but the park drys real quick so we were back on it within 10mins. Sick park, gotta be the best use of space we’ve seen for a while, much bigger trannies and amazing use of drop ins and banks, good combo lines to be had. We hit up Pitlochry and Perth on the road home for some sunny kickturns but were chased home by a huge black cloud. Amazing weekend finaly from this duff summer, roll on the next jam…(Falkirk this Saturday).

The results from the old yins were as follows:

1. Martin Socks
2. Husain Smart
3. Keiran Menzies
4. Viking Young
5. Tom Simpson
6. John MacLean
7. Tom Jones
8. Conner Petrie

Gnar points (along with bonus points to be awarded in the next Concrete Slayer update. Keep your eyes peeled.
